About Us

Welcome! We’re so pleased you’re here. 

We are the Steffen family and our mission is to help make families whole. We aim to equip and empower parents and provide resources that will help to inspire, encourage, and protect the time families have together.

Joey is a high school science teacher who has a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction. Heidi is a former labor and delivery nurse and lactation educator who now coordinates a labor and birth education program for new parents. We have four children, two boys and two girls. We are far from having it all together, but together, we feel we have it all.

In May of 2015, Heidi was diagnosed with colon cancer. During her treatment she suffered three medical emergencies which could have ended her life. But we serve a God who weaves all things together for our good and who graciously continues to write her story. This experience helped us more clearly understand the value of family and helped us better prioritize our time together, because time is precious and every breath a gift.

Our family has chosen to homeschool. Everyday is full of ups and downs as we learn alongside our children, but we pray God continues to be faithful as we walk this road.
